The design of the alterations and additions to the Flower Hotel incorporates 2 shops, and 6 office/studio suites. The rear has undercover parking with vehicle stackers. |

|
Adjustable sun louvres are timber and moveable. The movement of the louvres creates a dynamic kinetic façade system. |

The finished building looking similar to the computer model. The timber screens were deleted from the front balconies. The balconies sit within the wall thickness to create a deep reveal. The sign has been moved out from the wall further to create a stronger wall shadow. | ||

The front suite with the balcony looking over Bay St, Rich hardwood floors are contrasted against light white walls. the external walls a beautiful pale grey. Each suite has a kitchen/bathroom pod which functions well and divides the space to create private and public spaces. The units are being used for either commercial or residential uses. Bifolding doors open to the north for sun access and to see the cosmopolitan view. | ||

The southern suites have dramatic views of the city skyline. Galvanized trims, balusters, handrails, and posts have been contrasted with white and clear glazing to create a modern city building. | ||

M A T E R I A L S Colorbond contrasted with rendered finish create a dynamic texture combination. The wall colorbond cladding is purpose designed with galvanized joining strips which also act as flashings. Elements have more than one use.
